Statement on Statue

Brethren,

The attached official statement will be posted on our website later today.

As you know, events concerning the Pike statue took place on Friday, June 19, 2020.  I drafted the attached statement early on June 20, but intentionally waited a time with patience in the hope that tensions would level to some degree.  Any questions, concerns, suggestions or requests for response on this matter should be directed to my office.  No other staff member of this Council, unless specifically designated by me, is authorized to respond on this matter.

History is evaluated, written and judged by individuals based upon what is almost always an incomplete set of facts. For that reason, arguing any pro or con about Pike or any historical figure is an endeavor with a limited potential for success.  For that reason, I choose to focus on who we are today and where we must go.

You may post the attached or provide links to our website or distribute as you wish.

Thank you for your support of our Rite.

Fraternally,

Jim
